What can the free checker detect?
Count data rows with the same values across every column. Repeated customer or order IDs with changed details are not necessarily exact duplicates.
Identify empty fields that warrant review before importing records into a CRM, reporting tool or hotel system.
Look at headers, row widths and separators before trusting the export. A technically valid CSV is not proof that its business data is correct.
Example: one duplicate, one incomplete record
Consider this simplified export:
booking_id,status,amount B101,confirmed,120 B102,confirmed,90 B101,confirmed,120 B103,,45
The third data row repeats the first exactly; the fourth contains a blank status. Neither finding tells you which business record should be deleted or corrected. Always retain the original and investigate the source.
How to check your own CSV
- Save a separate copy of your source export.
- Open the free checker and choose a CSV file of up to 2 MB, or start with the built-in sample.
- Review exact duplicates, missing values and structural signals.
- Confirm issues with the data owner before editing, deleting or re-importing records.
Important: exact versus business duplicates
If the same booking ID appears with a different status, the entries are not exact row duplicates. They may represent legitimate updates. MicroVault's free checker does not perform cross-system identity resolution, semantic record matching, legal certification or automatic error correction.

Is MicroVault's basic CSV check free?
Yes. The initial browser-based check is free and does not require an account. Any optional paid report is separate.
Are my CSV rows uploaded to the site?
The free diagnostic processes CSV content in your browser. Do not put confidential data into any third-party site unless you have assessed the applicable privacy and security requirements.
Does the checker fix duplicate records automatically?
No. It highlights exact duplicate rows and other technical signs for human review; it does not rewrite your file or decide which row is correct.
